My love for typography, storytelling, printmaking, and design brought me to exploring and falling in love with artist books. While making an artist book I am designing an experience. Through sight, touch, and narration I allow readers to navigate through stories and concepts. The process of each book is involved. I design the layout, write the language, print the text using moveable type, create the imagery, and bind the piece. Every aspect of the book is deeply considered to ensure the reader gets can experience these niche objects without previous involvement of artist books or art objects.

Reading an artist book is often more involved than interact with a standard codex. My books utilize a variety of different structures that allow the reader to interact this them in a way most books do not. I am greatly inspired by the game design concept of the invisible tutorial. Using small visual cues and physical additions to the book to teach the reader how to interact with the book without giving clear instructions. This allows readers to have an uninterrupted experience and allows them to flow through the book, being able to focus on the content instead of struggling to remember directions.
